Lifestyle Newborn Photography| Cookeville Newborn Photographer

Even though majority of the time Owen was awake for his newborn session, we managed to get some good photos him. I’m behind on blogging so he has already changed so much from this session. They really do grow so fast. If you are wondering if his parents are baseball fans, well…..the answer is DUH!! I can’t wait to see him grow and I do wonder if he will end up loving baseball just as much as his parents.

Elicia's Surgery Day| Ovarian Caner Photography| Survivor Series

I have not known this lady for long, but I have known her long enough to know she is one strong individual. In the short amount of time I have known her she has had to overcome some tough situations. If you sat down and spoke with her you wouldn’t know what she was going through. She puts on one of the bravest faces.

This makes her third time fighting ovarian cancer. There is no doubt in my mind she will be strong and get through this. These pictures are a collection of her #survivorseries and showcase how she put on such a brave face the day of her surgery.

If you are reading this, please take a moment to pray for her! The power of prayer is an amazing thing. There are a lot of people that want to see this strong, beautiful, young lady heal and stay around for a long, long time.

Hoganson Wedding| Smyrna Wedding Photographer

This couple was nothing but sweet and truly themselves on their wedding day! This was my first catholic wedding I have done wedding photography for. I absolutely loved the church and the sentimentalism around their wedding day. The support they had from their family and church was nice to see because they truly let the couple enjoy their wedding day.

A Major Wedding Day| Watertown Wedding Photography

I cannot say enough sweet things about this couple! Their love is pure and genuine and you can tell they are going to have many years of happiness together. Brandon and I are so thankful we were able to video and photograph their wedding day. They had the perfect little church wedding. Church weddings are some of my favorite weddings to shoot. Brandon and I wish both of these guys nothing but the best!

Why Pay for a Birth Photographer?

If booking a birth photographer is something that is important to you then you have probably inquired with photographers about pricing.

I thought I would explain what all you are paying for when hiring a birth photographer. I know there have been services I have inquired about and thought to myself, that is way too expensive; however, when it is explained to me why they charge what they do it makes sense.

When you book a birth photographer you are asking them to be on-call for a very special moment in your life. A special moment that is equal to a wedding day. For wedding days, you know the exact day and time you need to show up and work. For births, you usually do not know until last minute when you have to show up and capture someone’s special day. You also do not know how long it will take. My shortest birth has been my longest wedding.

Being on-call for two weeks is a lot. During those two weeks there is no going out-of-town, no casually drinking with friends, and always having your equipment handy/ready. When you book a birth photographer, you are not only paying for them to capture your day, you are paying for their on-call time. Think about it, would you be on-call for two weeks without pay? Also, if you go into labor at 2 am you want the photographer you booked to be willing to jump out of bed from a dead sleep. If you are only paying someone $200-$300 dollars, can you trust that they are going to have that creative desire to capture your special moment? You want to hire a birth photographer that is going to be excited and push through the long hours and lack of sleep.

I know birth photography may sound expensive and unnecessary for someone to just, “Take Pictures,” but just remember all of the previous things above you are paying for. A professional, birth photographer usually has thousands of dollars worth of equipment, is on-call for at least 2 weeks, loosing sleep, and at the hospital for hours at a time. You want your birth photographer to be compensated for their time so they want to come and capture your special day and make it a priority.

Why Hire a Birth Photographer| Birth Photography

A birth photographer is not for everyone, but if you meet this criteria then a birth photographer is for you.

Are you a sentimental person? Do you enjoy truly living in the moment? Do you like to have tangible photographs of your memories? Do you like having memories captured of every little moment, even if you are not 100% camera ready? If you said yes to the majority of these then you would enjoy the benefits of having a birth photographer.

When I shoot a birth I photograph it in a documentary style. I capture things as they naturally happen. Some shots are re-enacted, but most of the time they are captured as they happen. Having a birth photographer present allows you to have professional photos of your special day without having to think about telling someone to take a picture. There are so many moments that happen that day. A lot of the moments you do not even realize happen until I deliver the photos and then it sparks your memory.

If you are pregnant and have contemplated the idea of a birth photographer, ask yourself the previous questions.

Fresh 48 Photography| Cookeville Photographer

A fresh 48 session is a newborn photography session that takes place at the hospital, within the first 48 hours of life. It can also be referred to as hospital newborn pictures. I love how intimate and simplistic fresh 48 sessions are. These photos are an example of a fresh 48 session and truly showcase sweet baby Aspen. Can we take a minute to admire all that hair!!!

Tucker's Birth Photos| Cookeville Birth Photographer

Tucker came into the world and was immediately greeted by numerous family members with nothing but love. Capturing sweet moments during a birth is what makes having birth photos worth it. Every birth has their own story and individual sentimental moments. Allow yourself to live in the moment and look back on these moments with photographs.

Domestic Violence Awareness| Cookeville Tennessee

Domestic violence hits home for me. I grew up in a domestic violence household and I have been a victim of domestic violence myself. It’s hard to talk about but it is something I am passionate about bringing awareness and attention too. I was taught at a young age to not talk about it, it is just something that happens that isn’t right. I’m just now at a point where I can fully talk about it without feeling bad for it. If you have been a victim of domestic violence, know your voice matters!

The photographs show how much love their is between the two of them.

Couples Photography| Northfield Vineyards Sparta, TN| Sparta Photography

I absolutely love it when couples include their pets with their portraits. Fur babies are a big part of families so of course, they should be in family photos. I took this couples engagement pictures and now it’s almost a year later and they are just as happy as their engagement session. If you have pets, I encourage you to bring them so you have photos of them to look back on for memories.

60th Anniversary Photos| Vinson Farms-Sparta, TN| Sparta, TN Photography

Sixty years together is a long time. Especially in today’s society where getting married just seems so casual. I love capturing love stories like this. This couple right here is the true definition of #couplegoals. Love is sacred, but love is not easy. At the end of the day, remembering to laugh, respect, and enjoy each other is what’s most important.

Father-Daughter First Look Photos| Bilbrey Farms| Sparta, TN Wedding Photographer

Father-Daughter first looks are starting to be a favorite of mine to shoot, at a wedding. The way a Dad looks at his daughter in her wedding dress is priceless. Especially if it’s a Dad who says he won’t cry. Seeing the raw emotions between a Father and Bride is something I highly suggest you get your wedding photographer to capture. The images are priceless and they are photos you won’t regret taking. Set aside some time for these first look photos.

Lincoln Turns One| Birthday Party Photos| Sparta, TN Photography

Turning one is a very big deal! This little guy right here is very loved and he had the cutest fishing themed birthday bash. Time flies by, we can all agree to that. Hiring a professional photographer to capture all the little moments is not something you will regret. There are so many moments that happen that if you tried to get everything set-up, enjoy the party, and take all the photos you would be exhausted. Allow yourself to live in the moment and let a photographer capture the memories with photographs.
