This sweet couple wanted to be around nature for their engagement session. Bee rock was the perfect location to take their engagement photos. The rain was a bonus nature vibe that added a whole mood to their photos. I highly recommend this location for a couples shoot, especially if you're wanting to be surrounded by nature.
I cannot believe Mia will be graduating. I've been taking photos of Mia for a few years now, with the rest of her family. She has blossomed into a beautiful young lady and has an amazing work ethic and drive for someone so young. Her Mom has done a wonderful job raising her...Go Mom! Mia had so many gorgeous senior portraits and was so easy to capture. I can't wait to see how far this young lady goes in life.
During the summer, waiting until right before sunset is the perfect time to take photos. I met-up with this couple about 6:30 on a summer night, in Downtown Nashville, to take their engagement pictures. The sun and lighting were in our favor, which allowed for glowy photos and added to some creative engagement portraits. Congrats to the engaged couple and I have no doubt their Florida wedding will be beautiful.
This woman right here is one of the strongest women I know. She is a selfless, strong, beautiful, and connected woman. Shooting women like this helps inspires me, and allows me to continue on my creative journey, as well as my healing journey. No one knows how strong she is or what she’s been through, but her story and new journey is powerful.
I loved this low-key brunch wedding. A wedding does not have to be over-the-top to be beautiful. Simplicity can sometimes showcase more details than above and beyond. Small, intimate weddings will always be one of my favorite weddings to shoot. The bride and groom had so much love surrounding them on their big day. Here is another milestone I’m capturing for Mrs. Casey. I have had the pleasure of capturing her graduation photos from nursing school, maternity pictures, newborn pictures, family photos, and now engagement photos . I remember the first time I met Josh and being so happy for Casey because she found a wonderful man to love her and her beautiful daughter. This lovely couple deserves nothing but happiness. I can’t wait to take photos of their wedding day.
This couple was one of the most humble couples I have ever shot. Their love is nothing but pure. When they spoke about their love for one another, you can tell they knew they would get married from the get go. Sometimes you just know who your soul mate is when you meet them.
There is never a dull moment when taking pictures of Mica. Taking pictures of her and her family wasn't a dull moment either. It was such a pleasure meeting Mica's family. Family is a foundation with bonds that can't ever be broken. The matriarch of the family is definitely loved by everyone and well respected.

I have photographed Allison several times now, but I’m so excited that I got to shoot some business portraits of her and her co-worker. I love seeing my clients blossom in their career. She has ventured to having her own business now, Wild Lily Collective, and I cannot wait to see how her business grows. Her and Liz are going to do big things together, I have NO doubt about it. A wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life, but it doesn't have to break the bank or cause you to go in a lot of debt. Here are some ways you can cut expenses for your wedding day and still have the wedding you dreamed of.
1. Picking your Venue
Venues are one of the most expensive aspects of a wedding day. I love a great venue myself; however, they can get pricey and when you think about it, you personally don't get to enjoy the venue like you think you will due to all the busyness of your wedding day. Yes, you will look back on your pictures and/or video of your wedding day and see the beauty of it, but you don't really get to enjoy the beauty of it during the moment. If there is a venue you just have to absolutely get married at, I would recommend seeing the cost of a Friday or Sunday wedding. Most venues offer a discount if you get married on a Friday or Sunday versus the typical Saturday wedding.
Another option would be to have your wedding ceremony outdoors or at a family member’s location with a beautiful outside area and then rent a place for your reception. Be creative with your ceremony, there are several options you can do to have a beautiful ceremony to say your, "I Do's!"
2. Programs and Invitations
Who really cares about programs and who really reads them? If you really want your guests to know who is a part of your wedding party, make a board and display it at the entrance of your ceremony.
Invitations can be pricey as well. Most wedding guests are not going to keep your invitations, even if your pictures are on them. Yes, some guests may notice the intricate details you design for your invitations, but if you're on a budget, do away with expensive invitations and avoid a wedding list bloat.
3. Florals
I absolutely love flowers, but they do die. Cut down on the number of florals you use or even consider using fake flowers. In the pictures, I promise you can't notice the difference.
4. Buy decor as you go
You don't have to purchase all of your decorations at once. Buy as you go or as you see things on sale. Also, I promise you can find a bride selling their decor and get a good deal on it.
5. Do catering yourself
I promise there is a family member or a family friend that would be glad to help out with catering for your wedding day. You can even ask for that to be your wedding present from them so you can cut down on expenses for catering cost.
6. Skip Bridesmaids and Groomsmen gifts
Your wedding party knows you love them so if you explain that you are skipping gifts to cut down on costs, I promise if they are your true friends they will understand. Consider paying for their hair and make-up and let that be their wedding gift from you.
7. BYOB
Have guests bring their own alcohol and buy your own alcohol for your wedding day. This will cut down on costs but still allow your guests to have fun on your big day and yourself.
8. Borrow Stereo Equipment
Make your own wedding playlist and have someone be your DJ for the song you walk down to. No, it may not sound as good as a DJ being there, but if a guest is judging you for that then you wouldn't really want them there anyway.
Again, these are just some ideas to cut back on costs for your wedding day. Every bride has a different budget for their big day. There is no right or wrong way to celebrate and plan your big day. Don't let the expenses of a wedding day stress you out. Evaluate what your budget is and what is most important FOR YOU!
I have known Brittany since our dental assisting school days. She’s one of those friends that I could not see for years, but pick right back up where we left off. Capturing her baby shower and sweet Caden’s newborn pictures be a precious memory I’m so glad I was able to capture. Brittany was glowing the day of her baby shower and she was glowing the day we took her little man’s pictures. Motherhood is a beautiful thing on my gorgeous friend.
Most family pictures are taken in the spring, summer, or fall. Having winter photos made can be a good way to switch it up and get a different vibe for your family photos. I know it can be cold, but you can schedule a 20-30 minute family session and get bundled up in winter clothes for winter photos. Capturing your family in all seasons is a great way to have various photos of you and your family.
Victoria always makes sure her family is dressed to impress and from head to toe. I love when families show up dressed the way they want and being themselves. Each family has its own dynamic and its own personal vibe. When taking your family photos, show up representing your family and at its best.
Mommy and Me pics are always popular, but Daddy and Me pics should be equally as popluar. Whether you're a Dad that has a son or daughter taking pictures with your kids is a way to preserve your memories with them. Most of the time we just think about Moms having those quality photos, to hang up of their kids, but Dads should have those quality photos to hang up as well. I know most Dads don't like to take pictures, but your kids need those photos to look back on so get in front of the camera with your kids other than the once a year family session.
I have always admired people that can play an instrument. If I could have learned to play any instrument I would have learned how to play the piano and the drums. Seeing this random guy on the beach caught my eye. He was playing the trumpet while enjoying the waves and I thought that was so cool. Carefree and in your own little world is admirable. He was playing his music for himself and himself only. Most people wouldn’t even think of doing that because of fear. Putting yourself out there in the music world is tough, so seeing this random guy just doing his thing was something I had to capture.
I have had the pleasure of taking pics of Allison twice now and she has rocked it both times. She is a hairstylist in the Nashville area and is awesome at what she does. Having quality pictures to post of yourself when you’re an entrepreneur is a must. I have said it several times that people want to get to know you and see who you are. They want to feel like they know you a little bit before booking with you. This is also a way for you to show up and have some fun for yourself. If you are an entrepreneur, get in front of the camera.
I love how this maternity session involved both sets of grandparents. This is the first grandchild on both sides of the family, so you can only imagine the excitement surrounding this couple. When the baby gets older, he will be able to look back on these pictures and know how loved he was even in his mom’s belly.
This is another one of my couples that I have had the pleasure of capturing their wedding day and now another important milestone in their life. When I say I love seeing my families grow, I mean it. It’s as if I become a part of the family. Capturing these moments are very important and significant phases of a couple's life.
When you send your photos in for castings, they have to be up-to-date. Well, Cassidy changes her hair a lot so having updated photos is a must for her to get bookings. I love working with Cassidy and love seeing all of her hair changes. I don’t think there is a hair style out there that she couldn’t rock.
Ok, first off this is hands down one of the most badass brides of ALL time!! When you can pull off walking down to Cardi B-Press, Press, Press....you know you are, Bad Bitch, status. This sunset with the black and red colors made everything about this wedding have its own, unique mood. When it’s your wedding day, make it represent yourself. I know we live in the south, but who cares; be yourself, and have the wedding day you truly want to have.
The first time I saw Montana, I knew she had to of been a model. I think one of our first conversations I asked her, “Have you ever modeled?” When she told me no, I was shocked. Having that long, runway model body intrigued me to do a shoot with her. I’d say she did a pretty bad ass job for her first photoshoot if I do say so myself.
